Description
The Urban Environment Administration has a comprehensive responsibility for the city's public spaces and overall accessibility.
We work to create accessible, attractive, and vibrant urban environments and natural areas. The administration owns and manages the tram network in Gothenburg. Approximately 900 people work within the administration.
The Urban Environment Administration is part of the urban development administrations in Gothenburg City. Together, we work to create conditions for a functioning infrastructure, quality housing and premises, an inviting public environment, and strive for the city to be sustainable from all perspectives.
With us, you will work in an administration focused on development, collaboration, and diversity. We offer, among other things, wellness grants and cycling benefits - so you can combine an exciting job with a sustainable private life.
Job Responsibilities
The unit, Traffic Technology, has been allocated funding for two EU projects in the area of Digitalization and Automation of the Transport System, both of which require coordinated project management. At the same time, the demands on the Urban Environment Administration to continue working on the digitalization of the transport system and sharing data with its users are increasing due to new legislation and citizens' growing expectations. To manage incoming projects and simultaneously continue the work towards the administration's future digitalized and automated transport system, the unit needs to expand with a project manager.
As a project manager, you will be responsible for initiating, planning, leading, and following up on projects within the Digitalization and Automation of the Transport System. The work largely takes place in new and untested contexts, where methods, solutions, and working practices need to be developed in parallel with the project. The projects are often characterized by having a clear goal, but the path to that goal must be explored and tested – many of the initiatives are unique and have never been implemented before. The role includes both management of EU-funded projects and development projects within the unit's, department's, and administration's assignments. The project manager collaborates both within the administration, Gothenburg City, and with external actors such as academia and industry, both nationally and internationally.
Qualifications
To apply for the position, you need:
- Relevant higher education
- Experience in project management within digitalization or data-sharing projects
- Experience working in IT and digitalization
It is advantageous if you have:
- Experience from traffic, infrastructure, or urban environment-related activities
- Experience from complex organizations with many stakeholders
- Experience working with EU-funded projects
As a person, your initiative is a central quality – to start activities and achieve results whether the work is done independently or together with others. A strong commitment and enthusiasm for the work characterize your way of working. Opportunities for change are seized, and situations are created where new ideas and proposals can be developed. Others are motivated by your ability to pedagogically describe changes, and criticism is handled constructively.
Information and ideas are communicated clearly, both orally and in writing, and the message is ensured to reach its destination. Communication is adapted to the recipient, target group, and situation.
Clearly defined goals are a strong driving force, and the ability to translate these into concrete action is well developed. With a focus on the goal, work can be reprioritized in the event of changed conditions and needs, and results and goal fulfillment are followed up and reported regularly. Collaboration is characterized by genuine listening, interest, and respect for others. The common mission is understood, and the work is directed towards making it as good as possible.
Conditions
With us, you will work in an administration focused on development, collaboration, and diversity. We offer, among other things, wellness grants and cycling benefits - so you can combine an exciting job with a sustainable private life.
As an employer, we have a duty to ensure that you have the right to reside and work in Sweden. Therefore, at a physical interview, you will need to show a passport or national ID card. Selection and interviews are conducted continuously, so do not wait with your application!
On-call duty may be relevant.
