Svenljunga Municipality is looking for a Construction Worker/Pipe Layer for the VA Unit

The VA Unit consists of 12 people. We manage the water facilities, produce and distribute drinking water, divert and treat wastewater and stormwater, and participate in the municipality's community development. Your position is located in the operations side of the VA Unit.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a construction worker/pipe layer, you will work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues. The tasks are very varied, and the opportunities to influence the work are good. With us, you will work with the operation and maintenance of our pipeline network for water, wastewater, and stormwater. You will independently or together with others plan and carry out pipe laying work. You will be responsible for purchasing materials and documentation. In the role, you will work with excavation and pipe laying according to AMA and will establish and manage shutdowns according to the TA plan. You are responsible for ensuring safety and order throughout the entire work process. Some investigative work is included, such as downspout inventories, filming, measurements, etc., before pipe laying work. On-call duty may be included in the position.

QUALIFICATIONS

You should have a high school diploma and experience as a construction worker/VA pipe layer and/or other relevant experience from the construction and civil engineering sector. We prefer that you have several years of experience and familiarity with municipal VA pipeline work.

It is advantageous if you have taken one or more of the Swedish Water courses within pipe networks such as introduction/diploma/leak detection. Completed courses in food hygiene, excavation safety, PE pipe welding certification, safe lifting, chainsaw, power cutter, GIS, and work on roads are also advantageous. A B driver's license for manual transmission is required for the position. You must be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written.
