Every year, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency makes 21 million decisions that affect people's lives and the entire society. We pay out approximately 260 billion SEK each year. These are the tax funds we manage. It is a great responsibility. Therefore, we delve into every case, follow laws and regulations, inform and guide, care, and show compassion. This is a job for you who want to take responsibility. Welcome to the Swedish Social Insurance Agency.

The main task of the control operations is to investigate suspected benefit fraud. The investigations range from relatively uncomplicated cases to organized and systematic crime. The tasks include both administrative tasks, qualified investigations, and negative decisions.

Investigations, analyses, and teamwork
As a benefits investigator, you have an important mission: to help citizens so that the right person receives the right compensation at the right time. You provide the conditions to have an overview and feel secure in all contacts with the Swedish Social Insurance Agency. Contact occurs via phone and in writing. In your work, you conduct qualified investigations and then make decisions. Each individual has a unique situation that needs to be addressed based on their specific needs. As a benefits investigator, you handle confidential information, which places high demands on proper handling. Therefore, it is important that you, who will work with us, have a high level of security awareness.

When you work with control, you meet people who may have received compensation from the Swedish Social Insurance Agency on incorrect grounds, either knowingly or unknowingly. You conduct checks that contribute to ensuring that the correct compensation is paid out. The work involves both qualified and complex investigations as well as simpler investigations and insurance administration, providing varied tasks. Your work includes investigating and making decisions on several different benefits, which places high demands on you as an employee to find the correct legal provisions and benefit regulations. In cases where compensation has been incorrectly paid out, you must also determine whether a police report should be made. You sometimes have personal meetings, including home and workplace visits. You collaborate with, among others, the Police Authority, the Swedish Tax Agency, the Health and Social Care Inspectorate, municipalities, and the Enforcement Authority.
