Nurse Specializing in Exposure-Based CBT
Amedo ABStockholms län, Stockholm
Previous experience is desired
Do you want to become an expert in exposure-based CBT as a nurse?
With us, you combine medical competence with psychological treatment – helping clients overcome severe fears.
Afobia is looking for you who are a licensed nurse with basic psychotherapy training (step 1 CBT) or a licensed psychotherapist with a CBT focus. You will be part of a specialized team at our clinic in Norrmalm at Kammakargatan 48, where we treat both children and adults – with a particular focus on fear of needles, blood, and medical procedures. Many of our clients have avoided care for years due to their fear. Others seek help to manage blood or injuries in everyday life.
This job is suitable for you who...
...want to develop clinically and become really skilled in a field. You appreciate clear frameworks, value supervision, and want a job where the quality of what you do actually matters.
About the work
You will work with the treatment of fear of needles, fear of injuries, and fear of medical procedures. The introduction to the work occurs in three phases:
Phase 1 – Introduction
- Paid literature and teaching included
- You will observe treatments together with a psychologist and be responsible for injections as part of the exposure
Phase 2 – Treatment with support
- You will lead parts of the treatment together with a psychologist
- You will practice structuring sessions and guiding the client through exposures
Phase 3 – Independent treatment
- You will carry out treatment independently
- You will receive continued supervision from a licensed psychologist and licensed psychotherapist
- The treatment is based on a structured model developed by a psychologist with extensive experience in specific phobias
Flexibility and setup
The working hours are completely flexible and are determined in dialogue with the team and the client. You choose which days and times you work – perfect for you who want to combine with another job, studies, or your own business.
We treat both children and adults. Many clients are children, making the role suitable for you who enjoy working with young people and their parents.
We offer
- Hourly wage above average
- Flexible working hours in consultation with the team and client
- Paid literature and teaching
- Regular CBT supervision by a licensed psychotherapist
- Work at our clinic in Kungsholmen next to Norr Mälarstrand
- An environment where quality, learning, and safety are at the center
- A unique opportunity to become an expert in exposure-based CBT
Requirements
- License as a nurse
- Basic psychotherapy training (step 1 CBT) OR licensed psychotherapist with basic nurse education
- Experience in performing injections and blood tests
Only applications that meet the requirements will be considered.
Meritorious but not required
- Licensed specialist nurse in psychiatric care
- Interest in CBT, anxiety, and exposure treatment
