to apply for the job
In Region Kronoberg, we are 6,500 people working for the best of the residents of Kronoberg – every day! We are responsible for healthcare, public transport, regional development, and culture in the county. Our goal is for our employees to thrive, grow in their professional roles, and be able to influence their workday.
Ljungby Hospital is a smaller hospital with short decision-making paths, close collaboration, and a strong team spirit. Here we know each other, work closely together across clinical boundaries, and always have the patient in focus.
The Anesthesia Clinic in Ljungby encompasses activities within anesthesia, pre- and post-operative care, surgery, and sterilization technology, conducted in a technology-intensive environment with close cooperation with other clinics and specialties in the hospital.
The clinic is currently in a phase of change and development. In the spring, we will launch a new intermediate care unit, with patients from orthopedics, surgery, and medicine. This is an important investment for the hospital and involves new working methods, new care flows, and a strengthened focus on patient safety between the care ward and intensive care.
As an anesthesiologist, you will have a central and clear role in this development, with a strong consultative responsibility towards the wards. You will be a key person in the establishment of the new department and in the ongoing work to shape and ensure the quality of the operations moving forward. There are good opportunities to influence both content, structure, and working methods.
At Ljungby Hospital, the establishment of intermediate care beds is underway, which will constitute the highest level of care in the hospital for patients who become acutely ill. The operation will include stabilization of patients and further transport to the intensive care unit in Växjö.
We offer the opportunity to influence your schedule through a wish schedule and take great consideration of individual requests. The team is smaller, cohesive, and characterized by a good atmosphere, participation, and well-functioning teamwork.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As an anesthesiologist, you are responsible for the patient's vital functions before, during, and after anesthesia and contribute with specialist competence in acute situations throughout the hospital. You work at a smaller hospital, which means you are involved in the entire perioperative flow from preoperative assessment to postoperative follow-up.
Your responsibilities include, among other things:
- Preoperative assessment and anesthesia planning
- Administration of general and regional anesthesia as well as sedation
- Monitoring and treatment during surgery
- Postoperative care, pain management, and follow-up
- Acute anesthesia in trauma and emergency surgeries
- Participation in MIG alarms (mobile intensive care group) assessment and stabilization of acutely deteriorating patients
- Advanced airway management and circulatory support in acute conditions
- Consulting work towards other clinics
- Independent work and on-call work according to a rolling schedule
- Supervision of colleagues
The work requires high clinical independence and the ability to make quick decisions in acute situations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Licensed physician with specialist competence in anesthesia and 5 years of experience in on-call competence
- Good clinical independence and confidence in acute situations
- Ability to work both independently and in a team
- Good collaboration skills and a professional approach
- Interest in change work, business development, and consultative working methods.
If you want to work in an organization where you have the opportunity to influence, contribute to development, and be a key person in building the future care in Ljungby, we look forward to your application. We place great emphasis on personal development, and do not wait to submit your application, as we are recruiting continuously.
