Nationalmuseum is a government agency with approximately 160 employees tasked with promoting art, art interest, and art science. The museum's collections include paintings, sculptures, drawings, and graphics from the 16th century to the turn of the 20th century, while the collections of applied arts and design, as well as portrait art, extend to the present day.
The collections are displayed in the main building on Blasieholmen, Stockholm, and at about 20 other visitor sites including Gripsholm Castle, Läckö Castle, Nationalmuseum Jamtli in Östersund, and Gustavsberg Porcelain Museum. Nationalmuseum also conducts exhibition, program, research, and publication activities as well as lending activities. We strive to be a museum where everyone can feel welcome and offer a broad range of activities both on-site and digitally. By providing contemporary perspectives on history and historical perspectives on contemporary issues, we create opportunities for in-depth conversations about art and design for all ages.
Your main tasks
- Ensure public reception and ensure that general visitor areas create a welcoming impression.
- Facilitate and sell tickets and shop products.
- Staff the museum's information points including reception in collections and exhibition areas.
- Act as a public host in connection with program points, exhibitions, and other events.
- Be responsible for replenishing and providing both visitor-promoting materials and shop products.
- Conduct visitor surveys according to given instructions.
- Perform certain janitorial tasks.
Qualifications
- At least two years of experience in similar tasks within the visitor industry.
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written forms.
- Computer skills as a working tool.
Meritorious
- Good knowledge of a third language.
- Basic knowledge of art and design.
