Vision and Hearing Clinics

The Vision and Hearing Clinics are seeking a licensed healthcare social worker for the children and youth teams!

About Us

We are two different specialist resources within Region Sörmland with particular knowledge of permanent vision and hearing impairments and their consequences in everyday life. Our mission is to create conditions for children, young people, and adults with permanent disabilities to live an active and independent life through developing, supportive, and compensatory measures. The habilitation is a complement to other healthcare services. The position is distributed between the clinics and is regional, with clinics in Eskilstuna, Katrineholm, and Nyköping. We have a good collaborative climate where we value teamwork and offer you a fun, stimulating, and developing job both individually and in a team.

The Vision Clinic's mission involves providing rehabilitative services to individuals with varying degrees and types of visual impairment or other vision-related conditions. The work is carried out in interdisciplinary teams consisting of social workers, optometrists, physiotherapists, vision pedagogues, occupational therapists, and medical secretaries.

The Hearing and Deaf Clinic's mission involves providing rehabilitative services to individuals with varying degrees and types of hearing impairment/deafness or other hearing-related conditions. The work is carried out in interdisciplinary teams consisting of social workers, physiotherapists, special educators, speech therapists, engineers, and medical secretaries.

We provide services individually and in groups, physically or digitally. The work is varied and versatile and is adapted based on the patient's needs, the team's working methods, and the daily routines of the organization. The clinics work according to national care processes and national care pathways.

Your Responsibilities

The social worker's task is to complement medical care with psychosocial knowledge based on a holistic view in support of the patient and their relatives. This means you are the link between healthcare and the surrounding community, as well as conveying information about social legislation and other forms of community support. The focus of the conversations can be supportive, crisis-oriented, processing, or existential. Your visits can take place both at our clinic or in the patient's everyday environments. Much of the work is done together with the team.

Social workers within the habilitation services meet regularly at regional professional meetings to discuss and collaborate on profession-specific issues. Continuous development work is ongoing within our organization, where all employees are involved. You play an important role in collaborating with other professions to contribute a holistic perspective on the patient's life situation.

Your Qualifications

For the position, it is a requirement that you are a licensed healthcare social worker. If you are trained in CBT, it is an advantage. We place great importance on your personal qualities, such as your ability to be flexible and have a creative problem-solving ability, as well as showing a strong commitment to the target group. Since you will be an important part of the interdisciplinary teams, it is essential that you enjoy working with others and believe that the best results are achieved together.

You Are Offered

  • Wellness allowance of 5000 SEK
  • Flexible working hours agreement
  • Friendly and experienced colleagues and managers
  • Regular case supervision
  • Mentorship from experienced social workers in the existing organization.
