Our Operations

At the pediatric neurology clinic, we receive children and adolescents from the entire Uppsala-Örebro healthcare region as well as children from other parts of Norrland. We investigate and manage children and adolescents with neurological diseases and/or disabilities. Within the section, we provide emergency care, medical investigations, rehabilitation/ habilitation assessments, and medical and paramedical treatments.

We are located on the first floor of the Children's Hospital and are one of the specialist clinics of the children's hospital. We have a close collaboration with the other units of the Academic Children's Hospital. Here, pediatric neurologists, pediatric nurses, nursing assistants, and epilepsy nurses work. We also collaborate with neurosurgeons, clinical genetics, and physiotherapists who regularly meet patients at the clinic.

Your Mission

In pediatric neurology, you will meet children and adolescents who have a disease or acquired injury to the central nervous system. Here, you will meet patients and families who need support and information about medication, safety, and treatment. You will also provide telephone advice, receive your own visits for treatment and sampling, and participate in medical consultations.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a specialist nurse with a focus on healthcare for children and adolescents. We consider it an asset but not a requirement if you have previous experience in pediatric neurology/epilepsy care, as well as experience working in outpatient care.

If you have not yet obtained your specialist nursing degree but are interested, you are also welcome to apply.

Your Competence

For this role, we are looking for someone who enjoys working independently but also in a team. You should have good communication skills as you will meet children and adolescents with different backgrounds. You are confident in your role as a nurse and have the ability to see the whole picture. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.
