Our Operations

Geriatrics, rehabilitation medicine, and pain center are characterized by well-functioning multidisciplinary teams, something we are very proud of. Our field of activity has a broad mission where it is meaningful, exciting, and developing to work. We constantly work on improvements to find ways of working where the patient is at the center and all professional competencies are utilized. Thanks to advances in medicine, care, and lifestyle habits, we are living longer, which brings new demands on healthcare. The patients we care for carry a whole life in their backpack, multiple diseases, and often a complex health situation. In the geriatric orthopedic department 30B, we care for patients with fractures, fall traumas, and pain issues both before and after surgery. The department runs a Clinical Education Department (KUA). At KUA, clinical education supervisors from each profession and nursing assistants are responsible for the students. As a nursing assistant, you have an important pedagogical role.

Your Mission

As an operational nursing assistant, you work closely with the patient and are responsible for parts of the care. You observe, assess, perform, and evaluate care. Your tasks include taking venous samples, inserting catheters, care related to feeding tubes, wound dressings, staple removals, monitoring vital parameters, EKG, bladder scans, taking various blood samples and wound cultures, and rehabilitation. There is also the possibility, depending on previous experience, to obtain delegation in certain medication handling such as inhalations, eye drops, and insulin. In the department, we have two different nursing assistant functions with different focuses. The operational nursing assistant focuses on the discharge process, contact with the municipality and primary care, admission of acute hip track patients, etc. The operational nursing assistant works with a nurse and two nursing assistants in a team. You are the one who leads the team. You also need to be able to work at KUA, which means you supervise doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and physiotherapists. As an operational nursing assistant, you can work in all nursing assistant functions in the department and introduce new colleagues to these. You are also an important part of designing, implementing, and following up on new ways of working to meet the needs of our patients.

Your Qualifications

• We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant (Socialstyrelsen's certificate of protected professional title is attached) or in the nursing program from semester 4 and onwards, or in the medical program from semester 6 and onwards.
• You have experience working as a nursing assistant.
• It is essential to enjoy working with elderly people.

Your Competence

The function requires that you have experience working as a nursing assistant. You should be interested in learning a new way of working that places high demands on your leadership ability as well as your ability to plan and organize a day. The variation in the work means that you should be flexible, responsible, and able to adapt to acute situations. You enjoy working with elderly people, have a good attitude, and possess good collaboration skills. We believe it is important that you are an engaged and positive colleague who contributes to a good working environment. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities and that you find it rewarding to work with elderly people.

We Offer

We can offer you a temporary position over the summer, scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends. The degree of employment can be discussed. You will be offered an introduction before you start working.
