Field Service Technician at Mycronic
Mycronic is a leading company in the electronics industry, creating world-class production equipment for electronic and display products. Their unique production solutions realize innovations and make future technology possible, and their technology is used in everything from powerful jet engines to life-saving pacemakers. If you are passionate about technology and customer relationships and want to combine both in an exciting company that values people, business, and technology – then the role of Field Service Technician might be for you. Read on!
ABOUT THE POSITION
This is a role for those who are passionate about technology in all its forms. Perhaps you have built your own 3D printer, assembled gaming computers, or set up advanced home networks? Maybe you have hidden a server in your closet, experimented with Raspberry Pi or Arduino projects, or written small scripts to simplify everyday tasks just for fun? Do you tinker with cars, mopeds, or motorcycles? Troubleshoot engines, replace parts, modify, improve, and test to understand how things actually work? Regardless of whether the technology is in circuit boards or under the hood, it is curiosity, problem-solving, and the willingness to learn that are most important, and that is the kind of drive and technical interest we are looking for!
Here, you will receive both a secure introduction and the opportunity for long-term development. During your first months, you will have a mentor, shadow an experienced colleague at customer sites, and have the opportunity to certify yourself through relevant training. Additionally, you will have close dialogue with your immediate manager, ensuring you always have support and good conditions to grow in your role.
A few words from your future immediate manager
“By working closely and together with experienced technicians, combined with certified training, we provide you as an employee with an opportunity to grow within Mycronic. My ambition as a leader is to create conditions for each individual to develop in their role and thus be given the opportunity to grow with new and increasingly challenging tasks.”
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities
As a Field Service Technician, you are the customer's first contact when they need help. You will work both with preventive maintenance and perform repairs for Mycronic's customers, and much of your working time will be spent in the field. The role involves around 120-140 travel days per year, primarily in Sweden but also to neighboring countries, and sometimes longer trips may occur. You will travel both alone and with a team, and for more complicated cases, you will also get help from second-line support. In addition to traveling to customers, you will also work from the office where you meet colleagues, participate in meetings, and training to ensure that you develop and receive the support you need. For example, you will...
- Conduct preventive maintenance service by replacing wear parts, performing calibration, measuring machine accuracy, and assisting in the installation of machines in production.
- Visit customers and troubleshoot machines and perform repairs to resolve issues.
- Provide technical support via phone and email to help customers use the machines and supporting software optimally.
- Conduct troubleshooting via phone and email to guide customers in fixing issues with sent spare parts.
- Train Mycronic's customers on the functions of the machines when needed.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO
In this role, we believe that those with a strong technical interest and a desire to build good and long-term customer relationships will thrive best. It is crucial to build trust with customers, be communicative and solution-oriented, and enjoy both teamwork and independent work. In addition, you have...
- A technical education from high school or university.
- Good knowledge of software, electronics, and mechanics, and preferably have a few years of work experience in service, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic and mechanical products.
- Experience working hands-on, either from work or hobby projects.
- Basic knowledge and, above all, a strong interest in computers, software, and networks.
- Knowledge of Swedish and English as both languages are used in the job.
- A valid driver's license (B).
- The ability to travel 120-140 days per year.
We consider it a merit if you have...
- Experience in support, installation, upgrading, and troubleshooting software using tools like TeamViewer or similar.
