About Midsummer
Midsummer is a Swedish solar energy company that develops and manufactures lightweight, flexible solar cells with a carbon footprint 90% lower than that of traditional solar panels. We control the entire value chain, from raw material sourcing to the delivery of finished products. Midsummer also develops and sells complete manufacturing systems for the manufacturing of flexible thin-film solar cells, which are supplied to customers worldwide.
About the Role
As a PV Production Technician, you are responsible for monitoring and maintaining production equipment used in the manufacturing of flexible photovoltaic (PV) modules. The role ensures consistent product quality, stable process performance, and an efficient production flow. Our technicians work closely with production engineers, QC, and maintenance teams to ensure safe, high-quality, and continuous manufacturing. The position includes occasional travel.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on PV production equipment to ensure stable and reliable process performance.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and process-related issues, restoring equipment functionality with minimal downtime.
- Monitor and verify process conditions, ensuring all systems operate within defined parameters before releasing equipment to production.
- Optimize equipment and process performance by supporting engineering improvements, upgrades, and calibration activities.
- Document all maintenance actions and deviations, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and traceability standards.
Your Profile
- Degree in a technical or relevant engineering field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read schematics, maintenance manuals, and technical drawings.
- Experience working with production machinery.
- Proficient with basic hand tools, torque tools, multimeters, gauges, and diagnostic instruments.
- Willingness and ability to travel for work.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.

- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork and effective communication with operators and engineers.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks under time pressure.
- Safety-focused and systematic approach.
Merits
- Experience with vacuum systems, robotics, automation, PLC-controlled equipment, or thin-film / semiconductor tools.

To succeed in this role, you are detail-oriented, analytical, and solution-focused with a strong technical interest. You enjoy working hands-on in a production environment and take a systematic, safety-focused approach to your work. You are responsible, able to work independently when required, and collaborate naturally with operators, engineers, and other functions to ensure stable processes and high product quality.
Additional Information
This is a permanent position with a six-month probation period. The role is based at our facility in Järfälla.
