As a traffic informant, you will have an educational, challenging, and fun job with a solid introduction, training, and guidance to help you get into the work in the best way. You will start your employment with a paid training on-site in the operational environment.

Traffic InformantJob Responsibilities

In the role of traffic informant, you are responsible for disseminating information both internally and externally to ensure that train passengers have good options for alternative travel during deviations in train traffic. This can involve everything from delayed and canceled trains to platform changes. You collect and compile information about track changes, delays, vehicle problems, and contact line faults.

You will be sitting in an operational environment at a traffic control center where you collaborate with several other functions. A traffic informant must be prepared for unexpected, sudden, and serious disruptions. You are an important player in local communication to relay information, and you work according to established routines and processes. The information you handle is disseminated via existing equipment at the stations and lays the foundation for information to various websites, apps, and media. It is essential that you stay updated on the traffic situation, which you do through computerized monitoring systems and good collaboration with colleagues and railway companies.

When train traffic operates as planned, you will have calm periods where you primarily monitor and are prepared if the traffic situation changes. In this role, you will work shifts according to a schedule throughout the year. Our earliest morning shifts start at 05:00, and the latest afternoon shift ends at 22:00. One of the most enjoyable aspects of this job is that no day is the same!

Qualifications

You have good problem-solving skills that allow you to identify, manage, and solve issues that arise in daily operations. You are attentive and can adapt your communication depending on the recipient. It is also important that you can adjust to new circumstances and situations where you work constructively and maintain your calm in stressful situations. You thrive in a varied pace, as calm monitoring periods also occur. You take responsibility for independently performing your tasks and have good collaboration skills.

We are looking for someone who has

  • a high school diploma - or other education combined with experience that we consider relevant and equivalent
  • very good computer skills
  • good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing

It is an advantage if you have

  • work experience in operational activities such as a traffic control center, alarm center, or other monitoring central function
  • experience from the railway industry and/or experience from work in communication and customer service
  • experience working shifts (day, evening, and weekend)
