Your Workplace

The Imaging and Functional Diagnostics (BFD) in Värmland is a dynamic and technologically advanced operation that includes radiology, mammography, and clinical physiology. Radiology clinics are located in five places in Värmland: Arvika, Karlstad, Kristinehamn, Säffle, and Torsby.

As a radiologist with us, you will be part of a team consisting of 25 specialists/consultants and 15 residents in the region. The operation is jointly organized with an overall manager, scheduler, and coordinator.

In Arvika, Karlstad, and Torsby, the operation runs around the clock, while Kristinehamn and Säffle mainly have daytime operations during weekdays.

Your Tasks

As a radiologist with us, you will work with image review and examination in both acute and elective general radiology. The tasks vary and also include rounds, multidisciplinary conferences (MDK), continuing education, and supervision of residents and shadowing colleagues.

On-call duties during evenings and weekends are included by agreement, with external review via Teleconsult at night, both weekdays and weekends.

Your primary placement is in Kristinehamn, but work at other hospitals in the region may occur by agreement. There is an opportunity for remote work as far as the operation allows.

We work in Sectra RIS/PACS and have region-wide work lists, which creates close collegial cooperation among radiologists throughout the region.

Your Skills and Competencies

We are looking for someone who has a Swedish medical license and specialist competence in radiology, as well as good knowledge of Swedish. You have experience in conventional X-ray, computed tomography (CT), ultrasound, and basic ultrasound intervention. Competence in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is an advantage, but not a requirement.
