We are looking for someone interested in working as a personal assistant to a wheelchair-bound young man in his 30s with cerebral palsy. Physical presence and practical support are required, but also a sense of when to be helpful – and when to just be there. You do not need previous experience, but you should be confident, attentive, and have a good sense of integrity.

He lives in Gislaved with his family. There is a dog in the home. The hours are mostly during the day on weekdays. In the role of assistant, you will make a difference in his life. Are you a calm and relaxed person who wants to work closely with another person – without getting stuck in rigid routines and hospital environments? Then this might be right for you.

The work includes everything from personal care, intimate hygiene, transfers, use of various aids, training, assistance with activities, and accompanying him in daily activities, etc. He is functionally blind, seeing a small percentage, and it will also be required that you as a personal assistant can provide verbal interpretation. The workplace is in his home, daily activities, and wherever he may be otherwise. The working hours are mostly during the day, Monday to Friday.

You must be able to speak fluent Swedish as this is a job where good communication is very important.
