As the owner municipalities of SÖRAB grow, the need for opportunities to manage and recycle waste increases. At SÖRAB, we work to ensure that resource extraction from generated waste is done in the best possible way.

As part of this work, we have invested in the Brista Sorting Facility located in Märsta, a sorting facility for residual waste based on NIR technology (Near Infra Red). We are now looking for a mechanic for the facility.

About the position

In this role, you will be responsible for performing and following up on the maintenance activities of the operation. Your tasks include, among other things:

• Mechanical maintenance
• Troubleshooting of the facility's equipment
• Rounds to detect technical deviations
• Condition-based assessments on production equipment
• Participate in and drive maintenance activities together with subcontractors
• Reporting and documentation in the maintenance system

Of course, you will receive a good introduction to get into the role in the best way. The role involves many contact points both internally and externally with suppliers and contractors, for example. You will be part of the maintenance department, which consists of Maintenance Planners and Maintenance Mechanics. You will report to the Maintenance Operations Manager.

You will be offered an important role with a lot of personal responsibility where you, together with the team, will help build and develop our maintenance department. We have short decision-making paths, which gives you good opportunities to influence, contribute to, and implement improvement work. SÖRAB invests in both skills development and employee care activities.

About you

We see that you have at least an industrial technical high school education or equivalent experience. You have work experience as a mechanic, and you have good practical experience in assembling, troubleshooting, and repairing machines and technical equipment. The experience can come from industrial/manufacturing operations, the automotive industry, workshops, or similar. It is highly meritorious if you have experience in sheet metal processing and maintenance of belt assemblies and conveyors. Very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing, as well as good knowledge of English, are required for the position.

As a person, you are responsible, meticulous, and structured. You enjoy working practically and have good problem-solving skills. To succeed in the role, you take independent responsibility for your work while being a team player who enjoys working in a team and contributes to good collaboration. Of course, we encourage development and therefore see that you are driven by improvement work and are happy to suggest how the work can be made more efficient.

Other

The position is full-time. Working hours are scheduled for two shifts (day and afternoon shifts).

Requirements

• Industrial technical education at the high school level, or equivalent experience
• Work experience as a mechanic
• Good computer skills
• Very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing, as well as good knowledge of English

Meritorious

• Experience working in maintenance systems
• Experience in sheet metal processing
• Previously worked with maintenance of belt assemblies and conveyors
• Knowledge of welding, forging work, and hydraulics
