“For us, digitalization is about taking responsibility for the whole.
When data and systems work, we create better conditions – both for our operations and for the city's development.”
- Lennart Sjögren, Group Manager IT and Digitalization, Örebroporten Fastigheter AB.
Örebroporten Fastigheter is a central player in the development of Örebro. With responsibility for some of the city's most significant environments and community functions, the company shapes places where business, public services, and everyday life meet. The property portfolio covers nearly 390,000 square meters and has a market value of around six billion kronor – and the pace of development is high.
Behind this physical development, there is an increasingly clear need for structure, reliable data, and well-functioning digital connections. To meet this, Örebroporten is now strengthening the organization with a development leader for data and integration.
A role with clear weight
In an operation where many systems interact and where decisions have long-term consequences, digitalization is not a support issue but part of governance. The role of development leader for data and integration is therefore strategic and demanding, with responsibility for how data, integrations, and IT architecture are designed, interconnected, and utilized.
The assignment involves ensuring that the organization's needs are translated into sustainable, secure, and long-term functioning solutions. It is about setting frameworks, creating structure, and providing direction in a digital environment that is constantly growing in complexity.
At the intersection of business and technology
The development leader operates in the borderland between the business and external IT suppliers. The role includes formulating and anchoring requirements, evaluating solution proposals, and following up on deliveries – with a focus on quality, architectural principles, and regulatory compliance.
The area of responsibility spans data flows, integrations, APIs, and information models, as well as issues of data quality, structure, and sustainability. An important part of the assignment is also to contribute to how data is used for analysis, monitoring, and visualization to support better decisions and more efficient working methods.
From development to real effect
In Örebroporten's flat organization with short decision-making paths, there are great opportunities to influence, but also a clear responsibility to prioritize correctly. The role involves driving development and change initiatives all the way from idea to realized benefit and ensuring that new solutions gain traction in the organization.
Here, digitalization is used as a tool to unite business benefits and social benefits – and to build a city that works, lasts, and develops over time.
Examples of tasks
- Translate the organization's needs into clear requirements for data platforms, integrations, and IT architecture.
- Specify, evaluate, and follow up on solution proposals from external IT suppliers.
- Ensure that architectural principles, security requirements, and regulations are adhered to.
- Work with data flows, integrations, APIs, and information modeling.
- Contribute to the development of data warehouses, ETL/ELT processes, and data visualization.
- Coordinate and drive development and change initiatives from idea to realized benefit.
- Follow up on the effects of development efforts and ensure that solutions gain traction in the organization.
Are you the one we are looking for?
To succeed in the role, we see that you have:
- University or college education, for example in computer science, informatics, or similar.
- Experience working in a demanding role at the intersection of business and IT.
- Good understanding of data, integrations, and IT architecture in complex system environments.

- Ability to create structure, direction, and consensus in development and change work.
