Your Role

We are looking for an engaged and experienced software architect for an exciting collaboration project within an advanced long-range robotic system. As an important member of our dynamic and agile teams, you will work closely with world-leading actors and contribute to the development of an already technically world-leading product.

In the role of software architect, you will play a central role in the further development of an advanced planning system with GIS functionality, which is now facing several major upgrades. You will work closely with the teams focusing on strategic and long-term thinking regarding the system's performance and sustainability.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who wants to take a step forward and contribute to further developing the architecture to meet new technical challenges, such as distributed systems and calculations on circuit boards. The work is conducted with continuous integration and requires a high degree of personal responsibility, while processes and methods will be further developed.

You have documented experience in software architecture and a solid background in application development, high-performance computer systems, or similar areas.

Your Responsibilities Include:

• Developing solution proposals for technical architecture
• Creating, reviewing, and updating system documentation
• Close collaboration with the agile product owner on prioritizing technical implementations
• Concept studies for technical decisions
• Coaching and mentoring team members
• Creating a clear and cohesive overall picture of the product's development
• Collaborating with external suppliers and partners

To Succeed in This Role, You Need:

• To be a communicative team player who dares to try new solutions
• Experience with agile working methods
• To communicate fluently in both Swedish and English.
• Excellent knowledge of C++ (required), and preferably experience with Ada and CUDA (meritorious).
• At least ten years of software development experience, with at least three years as an architect or equivalent

Placement can be in Karlskoga or Karlstad, and travel between these locations will occur, as well as travel to other locations where SAAB operates may also be relevant.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may involve requirements for certain citizenship.
