Systems Engineer Sonar Systems

Your Role

You will belong to a section that works with the integration of navigation, communication, sensor, and weapon systems onboard naval vessels. We are looking for someone who will specifically design and be responsible for parts of the ship's sonar system based on customer requirements.

You will work in project form and in close collaboration with other systems engineers, designers, and production and commissioning personnel at one of the many shipyards we collaborate with. You will participate in projects from the early concept phase and bidding, all the way to the delivery of the finished vessel. Some tasks will be performed at sea, on the surface, and underwater.

Your work consists of requirements management, developing specifications for systems and interfaces, creating design and manufacturing documentation, coordinating integration work and cross-technical issues with other technical disciplines, assisting procurement with technical documentation for procurement, coordinating subcontractors of systems and subsystems, supporting production personnel, assisting in commissioning, and being responsible for testing systems onboard, as well as, in some cases, conducting studies or evaluations of upcoming system solutions.

Requirements

• You are a civil or university engineer or have equivalent relevant education and you have an interest in technology in general.
• You are communicative, quick to learn new things, and you collaborate easily with colleagues, subcontractors, and customer as well as end-user representatives.
• Much of the work is conducted in English, so good knowledge of English, both spoken and written, is a requirement.

Meritorious

• Experience and knowledge in Sonar Systems
• Experience and knowledge of systems integration work in complex customer projects
• Experience with marine systems

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the current regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, it may, in some cases, involve requirements for certain citizenship.
