About the Workplace

The social administration in the city is responsible for individual and family care. Our mission is to enable residents to become independent in life so they can take an active part in society.

Our unit is responsible for two areas:

  • Support and Housing Team that targets individuals over 20 years old with psychosocial disabilities, dependency issues, and/or co-occurring disorders. The main mission of the Support and Housing Team is to ensure that the support leads clients to achieve an independent life and obtain their own housing contract, allowing individuals to transition from a residence to a home. Through motivational work, we offer clients support through individually tailored interventions from our Housing Support Workers and Housing Coordinators. Our housing forms include training apartments, municipal contracts, and rental guarantees, which are part of Helsingborg City's Housing Social Work.
  • Family Support Housing targets youth aged 16-20 who are ready to take their first steps into adulthood and independent living. Youth with psychosocial issues come to us, some may have previously received treatment at HVB or SIS but have progressed in their development towards an independent life. The operation has 17 places in the form of training apartments located within regular apartment buildings. The family therapist's work with the youth varies based on the youth's needs, which can range from intensive treatment interventions to simple follow-ups in the apartment together with the youth.

This position includes working in both operational areas, and the scope may vary. Both workgroups share common premises on Gåsebäcks väg, from where they proceed to youth and client work.

Job Responsibilities

As a Residential Support Worker/Family Therapist, you will have a fun and varied job. You will independently manage and lead the daily work, collaborating with colleagues in the team and cooperating with internal and external stakeholders. In the team, you are a natural part of the development of the operation and in collegial learning.

We provide support aimed at taking care of health, having leisure activities, receiving assistance in healthcare and authority contacts, support for education/employment, managing daily finances, and creating new/maintaining good relationships with family and friends. We meet the client/youth where they are, which can be in their apartment, at school, or in the workplace.

As a Residential Support Worker and Family Therapist, you will be responsible for a number of clients and youth, meaning you have planning and follow-up responsibilities and serve as the cohesive link in the various parts of the intervention, providing the client/youth with support towards their individual goals. You will meet regularly, which varies depending on needs, and you will establish an implementation plan based on a mission/care plan for the intervention and create a plan together with the client/youth that leads towards their goals. Documentation occurs in the Life Care journal system and Digital Journal.

What We Offer

We offer you a varied, responsible, and stimulating job. In a work climate where everyone gets a voice and where joy and professionalism are combined. As an employee, you will receive a wellness allowance of 3000 SEK per year.

Qualifications

Qualifications required are that you are an educated social pedagogue, treatment assistant, or have equivalent education that the employer finds comparable. You have experience working with the target group and preferably possess skills in MI, ESL, and/or Signs of Safety. Additionally, you have previous experience working within a politically governed organization and an understanding of the laws and guidelines that govern our work. It is a requirement that you have a driver's license and can drive a car, as well as good digital competence.

You have a positive view of people and believe that it is through close collaboration with clients, youth, colleagues, and external actors that we find solutions and success factors. You see opportunities in challenging situations and are brave enough to act in difficult situations. You trust your abilities and knowledge, but you are also unpretentious and willing to ask questions to both colleagues and youth, clients when you encounter obstacles in a task or assignment. You feel confident in prioritizing your tasks and can formulate the personal goals you need to set to achieve the organization's goals. For you, it is equally important to take responsibility for both your tasks and the work environment.
