Develop the Swedish Armed Forces Artillery

Battalion Staff

You will work at the A 8 artillery battalion staff. The artillery battalion staff operates as a joint staff, and therefore you should also be prepared to support other functions when required. The battalion staff includes various personnel categories: professional officers, civilians, and soldiers, with whom you will collaborate. The workplace has a high ceiling, and you are expected to take responsibility.

Main Responsibilities

As a staff officer, your main responsibilities will be to manage execution leadership within the artillery battalion and plan the basic training at the artillery battalion together with the battalion staff. The work is carried out both independently and in groups.

The work as a staff officer includes, among other things;

• planning activities and preparing, writing, and delivering orders,
• following up on ongoing activities, coordinating operations within the battalion, regiment, and to some extent the garrison,
• supporting the companies with training,
• gathering experiences to develop the operations.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• Professional or reserve officer, at least OF1/SO6
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
• Driver's license B

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone who feels a strong personal responsibility, wants to work independently and without prestige. You should be proactive and have a high ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, sometimes under time pressure. The ability to switch between working in a group and independently is of great importance. With varying tasks often performed in collaboration with others within the battalion staff, we see that you should be solution-oriented and flexible.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

MERITORIOUS

• Previous experience working in a military staff at the company level or higher
• Service in international missions
• Military driving licenses

Employment form: permanent or fixed-term RO2 employment. The Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the authority.
Employment rate: full-time
Salary: individual salary setting according to the Swedish Armed Forces agreement. For reserve officers who are state employees, the salary supplement agreement applies.
Work location: Boden
Start date: by agreement.

Working hours are mainly weekdays 07.30-16.30, but weekend and evening work may occur. Business trips are part of the job. The position is military and involves war placement. To meet the Swedish Armed Forces' physical standards, physical training is included as part of your duties.

The Boden Artillery Regiment, A 8, is the Swedish Armed Forces' competence center for indirect combat. The regiment preserves and develops competencies, materials, and methods for future capabilities to detect and hit targets at long distances with high precision. A 8 has functional responsibility for CAS (Close Air Support) - leading air support against ground targets and for the weather service within the Army in the Swedish Armed Forces. Combat in winter conditions is a special competence for the unit in Boden.
