The Artillery Combat School

The Artillery Combat School trains specialist officers (SOU) with a focus on Artillery sensor and Artillery piece, reserve officers (ROU), officers (OP) during VFU and Tactical Training Army (TakA) for future captains, etc. From autumn 2023, the school will also train specialist officers with a focus on Ground Combat. Due to significantly higher student volumes and the school taking over responsibility for the entire SOU, the need for competence in indirect fire has increased significantly.

ArtSS also leads method development within the function of indirect fire and sets requirements for future artillery systems.

Main Responsibilities

As the program manager for the Specialist Officer Training in indirect fire, you will coordinate, plan, lead, and follow up on the training for SOU cadets focusing on indirect fire artillery and indirect fire mechanized. The training department has teachers in leadership, physical combat value, indirect fire, fire control, artillery radar, gun service, and SUSA/Weapon service who conduct most of the training, but you will also be a teacher in your area(s) of expertise and support other teachers in their areas.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Completed and approved officer, specialist, or reserve officer training
  • Driver's license B
  • Approved result FM FySS basic level

Personal Qualities

High demands are placed on flexibility, structure, and the ability to work independently. You have good collaboration skills and can meet other people in a respectful manner. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

DESIRABLE

  • Service at platoon or company level in KRO
  • Service at platoon level in GRO
  • Background in indirect fire

Employment form: permanent or fixed-term RO2 employment. The Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the authority.
Employment rate: full-time
Salary: individual salary setting according to the Swedish Armed Forces' agreement. Salary supplements for RO who are state employees are regulated by agreements.
Work location: Boden
Start date: by agreement.

Working hours are primarily weekdays 07:30-16:30, but weekend and evening work may occur. Business trips may occur in the position. The position is military and involves war placement. To meet the Swedish Armed Forces' requirements for physical standards, physical training is included as part of your job responsibilities.

The Boden Artillery Regiment, A 8, is the Swedish Armed Forces' competence center for indirect fire. The regiment preserves and develops competencies, materials, and methods for future capabilities to detect and hit targets at long distances and with high precision. A 8 has functional responsibility for CAS (Close Air Support) - leading air support against ground targets and for the weather service within the Army in the Swedish Armed Forces. Combat in winter conditions is a special competence for the unit in Boden.
