ABOUT THE JOB

We need to strengthen our capacity with a building permit officer/building inspector who, in their professional role, contributes to a sustainable and safe society.

As a building permit officer/building inspector, you will be part of a workgroup that handles the majority of authority issues within the municipality. We work to streamline and improve the quality of our work based on the municipality's quality process, which focuses on having the shortest lead times possible. We also actively work with employee responsibility, where you are involved in planning the work and the future of our operations.

As a building permit officer/building inspector, you will primarily work with building permits and supervision cases. The role includes making independent decisions in accordance with applicable delegations and preparing and presenting cases in the authority committee. The position may also be combined with other work within the authority unit, such as collaboration with environmental inspectors and administrative tasks such as reporting statistics and registering certain documents.

YOUR PROFILE

We are looking for someone who is a trained building permit officer, has building technical competence, and experience in building permit processing. Education in the Planning and Building Act is a requirement, and we prefer that you have several years of experience in the field and authority exercise. Experience from similar tasks in municipal administration is advantageous. A driver's license and driving experience are also required for the position.

As a building permit officer/building inspector, you will primarily have a close colleague in the planning and building permit area. We place great importance on consensus and aligned assessments during inspections, which occurs through ongoing dialogue within the workgroup and work routines. Therefore, you need to have good collaboration skills so that we can create an efficient case management. The assignment also includes responsibility for producing various types of writings, which means you need to be able to express yourself well in writing.
