The positions refer to a summer temporary employment during the period from June to August, starting as agreed. There may also be a possibility for extension of hours before/after the period as a summer temp.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Your main task will be working in the detention operations. Meetings with detained individuals will be part of the job. Many are detained to investigate crimes, but it can also involve shorter detentions due to, for example, intoxication. As a detention guard, it is your job to receive these individuals and be their closest contact during their time as detained in the detention facility. Detention supervision is led by the station commander.
As a detention guard, your tasks mainly include receiving, handling, and supervising the individuals in the detention department. You will also perform tasks such as DNA sampling, fingerprinting, urine sampling, processing, record checks, documentation, photography, and taking reports. You will also transport individuals to detention hearings.
The pace of work varies and depends on how many individuals are detained. It can be physically demanding and requires that you are in good health. It also places high demands on professional conduct and an attitude characterized by respect for everyone's equal worth.
Depending on your previous background, internal training may be relevant to help you feel secure in the role.
QUALIFICATIONS
This is an opportunity for you who have:
- High school diploma or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way
- Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
- Good understanding of the English language and the ability to express yourself well in English
- Driver's license B
It is an advantage if you also have:
- Accepted into police training and have completed at least the first semester at the police academy by the start date of the temporary position
- Relevant experience working with detained individuals, such as in correctional services, detention guard, HVB/SIS homes, security guard, or other experience deemed relevant by the employer
- Current work experience in interacting with and meeting people in vulnerable and/or problematic situations as deemed relevant by the employer
- Current experience working within the police, another authority, or public administration deemed relevant for the position
- Knowledge/skills regarding police data systems such as RES, lost property, and Durtvå.
Personal qualities
You have an interest in working with people and the ability to empathize with others' perspectives and situations without taking over their feelings. In stressful situations, you can act calmly, controlled, and professionally. You apply a high level of safety awareness, which means you are reliable in situations where physical intervention may be necessary. The job also requires you to work well with others. You have a flexible approach and enjoy helping and supporting others. As a person, you are self-assured and act with maturity and integrity.

Work location: Skellefteå
Working hours: Three shifts with day, evening, and night work. Period-planned working hours 5:3.
Start: Temporary employment between June and August or as agreed. There may also be a possibility for extension of hours.
