Make a Difference. Every Day.
We are now looking for a nurse with a genuine interest in palliative care for our well-functioning and appreciated unit in Trelleborg. With us, you will have the opportunity to work closely with patients, make a real difference, and be part of a team where competence, commitment, and care are at the center.
The palliative care department is organizationally part of the management of Close Care and Health, mobile teams, and specialized palliative care in southwestern Skåne. We offer specialized palliative care aimed at alleviating symptoms and preventing suffering related to incurable or chronic diseases, regardless of age or diagnosis. Care can be provided as inpatient care in the department, which has six beds, admission within advanced home healthcare (ASIH), outpatient care, or at home and in special accommodations. The care is specialized based on each individual patient's needs.
The operation in Trelleborg consists of teams with nurses, nursing assistants, social workers, physiotherapists, dietitians, doctors, and medical secretaries. We continuously work to develop and strengthen teamwork to create an attractive workplace. Each employee contributes their specific competencies, where our joint efforts make a significant difference for patients and relatives. The palliative care department collaborates closely with ASIH, which has 17 beds within our catchment area of Trelleborg, Svedala, and Vellinge municipalities. Additionally, we cooperate with hospitals and various clinics.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We offer you a developing and exciting job where you become part of a multidisciplinary team. You will lead and actively participate in the planning of the patient's daily care together with other professionals and in collaboration with other care providers.
The work involves performing assessments and care from a holistic perspective. Patients admitted to the department have needs for specialized palliative care, which means they often have a complex symptom profile or that their life situation entails special needs. We handle everything from medical tasks such as giving injections, connecting infusions and medication pumps, placing catheters, and performing drainages to supportive conversations with patients or relatives and being a support in contact with authorities.
We strive to offer patients and relatives qualified care, both medically and psychosocially, around the clock. Therefore, the position involves some work during inconvenient hours. With us, there is an opportunity to make a difference and feel satisfied when the shift is over.
If you are interested in learning and developing, both as a nurse and a human being, you will thrive in our team!
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale are a requirement. We prefer that you have several years of professional experience as a nurse. If you have specialized training in palliative care and/or oncology, it is welcome but not a requirement.
To thrive with us, you are confident in your professional role and work with the patient in focus, which means you have the ability to see the patient and their individual needs. A large part of the work involves support and conversations, whereby you need to have good social skills, good communication ability, and teamwork ability. You have a flexible approach and the ability to prioritize between different tasks. Being able to work independently and make your own decisions is important, while you also value teamwork. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
