The Laröd Health Center is a stable, well-functioning, and expanding unit with over 7000 listed patients and more than 280 listed children at the associated child health center (BVC). We operate a branch in the local area where we offer both urgent and scheduled appointments for doctors and nurses, as well as a clinic focused on health promotion, prevention, and early interventions.

With us, about 30 dedicated employees work within various professional categories in interdisciplinary teams to provide the best possible care to our patients. The team consists of specialist doctors, training doctors, district nurses, nurses with specialist competence, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, psychologists, occupational therapists, dietitians, and secretaries. We offer a child health center (BVC), medical consultations, district nurse consultations, specialist nurse consultations for allergy-asthma-COPD, diabetes, infections, lifestyle habits, vaccinations, memory clinics, and elderly care clinics, as well as consultations with occupational therapists, dietitians, physiotherapists, and psychologists.

We are also proud to be an academic health center (AVC), which means research assignments from the Center for Primary Care Research (CPF), building bridges between the academic world and primary care. We participate in several research studies on lifestyle habits, mental health/illness, and hypertension. Since we have two associate professors working at the health center, there are good opportunities for those who want to combine research with their ST position.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an ST doctor, you will follow your ST plan, and we offer a supportive educational climate with continuous supervision on your path to specialist competence. During the first year, you will work at the health center, and in the following four years, you will alternate between specialist clinics and work at the health center. You will have your own patient list that you are responsible for. In addition to medical consultations at the health center, you will work with nursing homes, home visits, and on-call work during evenings and weekends, as well as at BVC.

As a new employee, you will receive an individually tailored introduction based on your previous experiences. We assume that everyone has an individual learning process and see it as a given that you will receive support from colleagues to feel secure in your new role. In addition to mandatory ST courses, you will be offered good development opportunities with continuous further education, both internally and externally, based on interest and the needs of the operations. We expect you to be involved and proactive in improvement work and operational development.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed doctor with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. To be considered for the position, you must have language skills in Swedish at least equivalent to level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale.

To thrive with us, you should have a genuine interest in general medicine and a desire to work in a team with other professional groups. It is essential that you share the same goals and visions as we do, which includes providing good and qualitative care. You are curious and attentive to the patient’s needs and resources. Additionally, you have a holistic view of both the work and the patient and easily adapt to different circumstances. Furthermore, your work is characterized by being meticulous, structured, and having a flexible approach. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

A permanent position as an ST doctor may be preceded by a fixed-term position as a junior doctor for a period of three to six months in accordance with regional guidelines for filling ST doctor positions within Primary Care.
