The emergency department is open around the clock and is responsible for acute psychiatric assessments as well as telephone advice to patients, relatives, caregivers, and authorities. Our catchment area consists of the residents of central Skåne.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

One of our colleagues is going on parental leave, and therefore we welcome a new nursing colleague for a temporary position with us!

In the role of nurse, the main tasks are to make assessments and decisions regarding the patient's care needs. As support in your decisions, you have the triage system RETTS and the triage handbook, as well as the opportunity to consult other nurses and doctors. The tasks also include telephone advice, psychiatric and somatic care, and acute medical interventions. You will also collaborate closely with caregivers and authorities such as the police, correctional services, and social services.

The tasks are often varied and exciting as you uniquely encounter the full spectrum of mental health issues in different phases. You will become an expert in communication and have time for each patient. There is also the opportunity to take on various responsibilities and have roles such as fire and safety representative, environmental representative, influence representative, ethics representative, or children's representative.

In addition to a pleasant and exciting workplace, we offer you an introduction and shadowing tailored to your skills and previous experiences. We assume that everyone has an individual learning process and see it as a given that you will receive support from colleagues to feel secure in your new role. Internal training is continuously held to enhance competence levels and streamline care work.

Work will be scheduled during the day, evening, and weekends. We are open to having a dialogue about working hours and schedules based on preferences, provided it fits the organization.

The position is a temporary one for 1 year.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to work in Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are a requirement. If you are also a specialist nurse in psychiatry and/or have experience working with patients with mental health issues in psychiatry, this is considered an advantage. We also welcome you who are new to the profession and have an interest in psychiatric care.

Regarding personal qualities, we would like you to be flexible, engaged, driven, and have a positive attitude towards improvement and development work. You are secure, stress-resistant, structured, and meticulous in your work, as well as having an empathetic approach towards our patients. The job requires the ability to switch from a fast-paced tempo to a more calm pace and vice versa. We believe that you see collaboration as a prerequisite for doing good work and contribute to the good and positive atmosphere of the workgroup. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
