About the workplace

We need to strengthen our fantastic team of educators with a teacher in English and possibly another subject.

Aroseniusskolan is a grades 7-9 school in Ale municipality, located in beautiful surroundings within walking distance from the commuter station in the center of Älvängen. The train takes only 23 minutes from Gothenburg and 17 minutes from Trollhättan. If you drive, you can easily reach us via the motorway from both Gothenburg and Trollhättan, and parking is free at the school. The school currently has about 480 students and 55 employees in well-functioning teams, where the student perspective and collegial collaboration are at the center. A special education group, Oasen, is one of four teams, where students with special needs are offered teaching in smaller contexts with high teacher density.

There is a resource teacher assigned to each team. They support teachers in their work around safety and study peace, as well as the important student social work. We have a strong student health team consisting of special educators, special teachers, counselors, psychologists, career counselors, and school nurses.

The work is led by a principal and an assistant principal. The principals work closely with the four team leaders and also have a school administrator and an operations coordinator in their staff.

Job Responsibilities

The work consists of planning, implementing, evaluating, and developing teaching in collaboration with the team and subject colleagues based on the goals of the organization. You will clearly work with knowledge goals and requirements to motivate students and help them achieve good results in their development, both socially and academically. You will use varied methods and base your teaching on each student's thinking and knowledge. You also have good knowledge of digital tools and teaching materials.

Your assignment includes sharing mentorship of a class with a colleague.

Qualifications

We are looking for one, possibly two, licensed teachers in English and possibly another subject. You are a clear leader in the classroom and can relate to both individual students and groups. You see the individual and have the ability to develop a learning environment that benefits the student's learning. Great emphasis is placed on your ability to meet students with different educational needs.

We see that you are confident in your teaching role while also having a good sense of collegial working methods. You have a well-developed communicative ability, which means you create good meetings with both individuals and groups.
