The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS youth home Brättegården is located just outside Vänersborg. We accept non-compulsory school-age girls with psychosocial issues, mental health problems, as well as criminality and substance abuse.

SiS Brättegården youth home is beautifully situated by the shore of Lake Vänern, just outside Vänersborg. At Brättegården, we accept students with NPF, substance abuse issues, and mental health problems. The primary target group is girls aged 16-20, but we also teach younger girls and provide adapted primary and secondary education when applicable.

Brätte school offers a well-structured everyday life with small student groups and a high degree of individualization. Knowledge development and future goals are in focus while the softer goals in the governing documents are constantly present in the work with the students. The school has a holistic approach where the student is at the center; in addition to knowledge development, we collaborate with both treatment teams and health care professionals to develop the students' skills and abilities.

We are now looking for a replacement for a teacher who is retiring.

You will be part of a team with ten teachers, a special educator, and a study and career counselor. You will teach based on your qualifications, plan, implement, and follow up on the teaching individually and together with the team. Mentorship may be part of the assignment. You are also expected to be involved in the school development that takes place both locally and nationally.

Qualifications
You are a licensed teacher with qualifications in home economics. Additional qualifications are meritorious. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability, such as experience in similar work and mentorship. The ability to create and maintain supportive relationships is considered an asset. You are also well acquainted with current governing documents.

Important qualities include being secure in the teaching role and being prepared to take responsibility for the student's development towards the goals from a holistic perspective, being flexible, and having the ability to see students' different needs and consider individual circumstances. Our conviction is that children and young people want to succeed if they can.

Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.

You must also have a valid driver's license (B).

Employment:
The position is a permanent full-time employment starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement.
