What we do and want

At Stimmets School, approximately 280 students attend from preschool class to grade 6.

Many of our students speak multiple languages and enrich the school with their cultural backgrounds. We incorporate the outside world into our teaching but also leave the school for the outside world where outdoor education is a significant part of our everyday life at the after-school center. Our school is centrally located in Tyresö with close proximity to public transport. But we also have nature right at our doorstep.

About the position

In your role as a special education teacher, you will work with in-depth knowledge of language, writing, and reading development/mathematics development with a focus on individual levels for grades 4-6 and in the school's special needs group. You will use special pedagogical methods to plan, prepare, and conduct teaching and support students based on their specific conditions. You will carry out and document assessments, investigations, and various forms of pedagogical tests aimed at leading to increased knowledge development for each individual student. As a special education teacher, you will also contribute your expertise in the work with pedagogical investigations, adaptations, and action programs. You will work to remove barriers and difficulties in the learning environment, develop alternative learning environments and learning tools. You are a qualified conversation partner in matters concerning children's and students' language, writing, and reading development/mathematics development in team work as well as in the student health team.

In your work, you create relationships characterized by mutual respect and trust, and you meet students where they are. You engage, inspire, and stimulate students to learn and take responsibility, as well as lead and organize work to create a safe learning environment.

Who are you?

For the position of special education teacher, you are required to have a teaching license with authorization to conduct teaching regarding special support in grades 4-6 in elementary school and a special education degree with a focus on language, writing, and reading development/mathematics development. In pedagogical leadership, you should have good didactic skills, solid subject knowledge, and a clear structure, conduct varied teaching that is adapted to each student's needs to create the best conditions for meeting the knowledge requirements in Lgr22, see documentation and assessment of students' knowledge development as a natural part of the work, have good analytical skills, and reflect on results and data that you compile and use in systematic quality work and actively contribute to creating good conditions for all students' learning. Experience working in a multicultural school is preferred.
