Do you want to help create safety for people and animals? Take the chance to become part of our unique organization, where you can make a difference.

The District Veterinarians exist to ensure that animals in Sweden have the best possible life. With around-the-clock emergency services, clinics across the country, and unique knowledge of animal health, we contribute to healthier animals and a safer life. We work with individuals, businesses, and authorities, offering services for emergency veterinary care, disease control, and preventive measures for good animal health. We are part of the Swedish Board of Agriculture.

We stand up for ethical veterinary care, are committed, and go the extra mile for our customers or colleagues. We make a difference and create value in every customer interaction. With animals and their owners in focus, we work together to continuously improve ourselves and our work methods. Always with our feet on the ground and our hearts in the right place.

Welcome to the District Veterinarians in Fjärdhundra!

In Fjärdhundra, we have a mixed practice with a primary focus on horses. Our growing small animal practice means we need reinforcement, especially in our anesthesia team. For small animals, we do everything from diagnostics to surgeries, vaccinations, and dental treatments. For horses, we perform dental treatments, lameness investigations, inspections, gastroscopy, imaging diagnostics, castrations, and vaccinations.

Fjärdhundra is only 50 km from Uppsala, and our clinic currently employs eleven veterinarians, one veterinary nurse, and two animal caretakers.

We can offer you a workplace with engaged, friendly, and knowledgeable colleagues who together create a good and open work environment. We value participation, which allows you to contribute to the development of the organization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a veterinary nurse, you are an important part of our team! We offer a varied everyday life with flexible colleagues who help each other where needed. We support each other in daily tasks and form a close-knit team. Together with your team, you are responsible for solving and performing the tasks needed based on the day's requirements, and you work selflessly with the goal that our patients, customers, and not least ourselves should enjoy, feel good, and have fun at work every day. You will largely be our face to the outside world and often have the initial contact with our customers, both at the clinic and over the phone.

As a licensed veterinary nurse, you will be a key person in our anesthesia team for small animals. Your tasks will also include receptionist work, cash handling, sales, appointment booking, and advice. A well-functioning hygiene protocol is very important to us and includes washing clothes and instruments as well as cleaning according to established routines. An interest in hygiene and team leadership is an advantage!

We create a personal competence plan and work on professional development to help you grow in your role in the best possible way.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a veterinary nurse license or equivalent and preferably an interest and knowledge of multiple animal species. We wish for you to be engaged and solution-oriented to work for the team's best interests towards common goals!

You are a problem solver and a doer. You have excellent organizational skills. You are accommodating and attentive in your interactions to create a good customer experience.

Since our operations also include emergency care, a good eye for prioritization and planning is required to create a good workflow throughout the day. We place great importance on personal suitability, social competence, and are looking for a colleague who values good collaboration and contributes to team spirit. Experience with both small animals and horses is an advantage; a veterinary nurse license is also an advantage. We also welcome applicants who are newly graduated.

Warm welcome to submit your application!
