Our Operations
The Oncology Department 101 B is an inpatient department providing care around the clock, every day of the year. Here, patients with various types of tumor diseases are treated, with common diagnoses including breast cancer, head and neck tumors, sarcomas, and cancers of the gastrointestinal tract.
Patients come to the department when their investigation, treatment, or illness requires inpatient care. This can involve treatments such as chemotherapy/antibody therapy and various radiation treatments, or patients may have infections or pain and nutritional problems. We have both acute and elective admissions, and the lengths of stay for our patients vary from a few days to several weeks. We have close collaboration with other departments/clinics within our area of operations.
Our operations are in constant development, both in medical care and in our working methods in the department. We enjoy developing and constantly improving! We work long-term with health-promoting measures in our workplace and are proud to have been recognized for this, even receiving an award for the Health-Promoting Workplace of the Year 2021.
Your Mission
As a nurse in oncology, you are an important part of the highly specialized care surrounding the patients. Together with a nursing assistant, you are responsible for one of two care teams.
We are a technology-intensive department, and you will perform everything from standard nursing tasks to more specialized tasks such as managing central lines, infection treatments, chemotherapy, pain pumps, etc. Here, you have excellent opportunities for development in your professional role, whether you are a new or experienced nurse.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for a licensed nurse with some years of experience. Experience in oncology is an advantage.
Your Competence
As a person, you are secure and maintain calm and focus regardless of the situation. You see opportunities and easily adapt to changing circumstances. You take initiative and plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. You enjoy collaborating closely with your colleagues and strive for a positive atmosphere in the workgroup. Furthermore, you always put the patient in focus and see the overall picture surrounding them. You think strategically, long-term, and have a broad perspective.
We Offer
We offer a permanent full-time position with a start date according to agreement. Working hours are scheduled for night shifts. There is an opportunity for daytime rotation if desired after discussion with the manager.
Additionally, we offer:
- Individualized introduction based on previous experiences.
- Frequent check-ins with your immediate manager and educational nurse.
- Further education within our competency development program, the Cancer Care Academy, for one year.
- After the Cancer Care Academy, there are opportunities to apply for paid specialist training.
- We have a high frequency of education in pathology, nursing, and treatments.
- Patient-free days for work related to your area of responsibility and relevant training within your area of responsibility.
