About the Position
The Swedish Armed Forces Technical School (FMTS) is responsible for all technical training within the Armed Forces (FM). Technical service (maintenance) is a crucial part of FM's capabilities, and our IT systems are an integral part of this technical service. FM is on a digitalization journey to meet the rapid developments in information management in the world. Do you want to be an important part of this journey?
In the Armed Forces' system for managing technical service, we handle information that supports the operations with planning, execution, and follow-up of the technical service.
As an educator/teacher in technical support systems, you will train Armed Forces personnel in the support systems that manage technical service. Within the work team, we work with various systems (RSF, Lift, and PRIO/SAP), and you are expected to contribute to meeting the section's needs in this area.
Job Responsibilities
The main job responsibilities are to develop and conduct training in the Armed Forces' technical support systems regarding material maintenance. The position also means that you may be responsible for course administration and course content within your area of education.
Within the section, we have several people working with different support systems. In our daily work, we collaborate to create redundancy and make knowledge available to FM. You will also come into contact with competence networks within FM, where you sometimes lead and distribute tasks, ensuring we stay at the forefront regarding new working methods and the development of our courses.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- High school education
- Work experience in maintenance operations or other experience deemed equivalent by the employer
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- Driving license B (manual)

As a person, you are resourceful, social, responsible, and a team player. You enjoy seeing others develop. You should have an interest in acquiring new knowledge and be constantly driven to improve pedagogy in learning. Flexibility beyond your own area of responsibility is a necessity, both to support other areas of competence and to solve various forms of common tasks, such as designing new courses. Travel is part of the job. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
DESIRABLE
- Knowledge of the Armed Forces' technical service, logistics, and material maintenance
- Pedagogical experience
- Previous experience working with or implementing operation and maintenance systems that manage the follow-up of usage and maintenance of technical systems.
- Experience creating educational materials and writing explanatory texts, questions, and instructions.
- System knowledge in one or more of our support systems: PRIO (SAP PM), RSF, and Lift
- Experience as a course manager or teacher
- Good knowledge of the MS Office package.
Other
The position is a permanent full-time civil employment that begins with a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed within the authority. Start date according to agreement, and the position is based at FMTS in Halmstad. National and international travel is part of the position. The Swedish Armed Forces Technical School, FMTS, headquartered in Halmstad, is a logistics unit where technology is at the center. The unit's operations rest on four pillars – development, education, workshop, and military unit production.
