Vårdcentral Avesta is one of the region's health centers and is located in the Avesta hospital area. We have about 11,000 registered patients, and we have about 65 employees in various professional categories such as doctors, nursing assistants, psychotherapists, medical secretaries, nurses, district nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, midwives, and foot care therapists.

The position we want to fill is a nursing assistant. In the role of nursing assistant at Vårdcentral Avesta, you will assist doctors in the medical office, staff the lab, perform sample collections, and work administratively regarding booking sample collection times based on incoming calls in our TeleQ. You will also have a nursing assistant reception where the nursing assistant changes catheters, performs simple wound dressings, audiograms, etc. In addition, other tasks such as staffing our reception and ordering supplies and unpacking consumables will also occur.

We are looking for someone who

• Is a trained nursing assistant who has completed the Health and Care program or the vocational package Health and Care in adult education

Meritorious

• Has previous experience in healthcare
• Has basic training in Cosmic
• Has experience in reception work as a nursing assistant

Information about the Job Title

As of July 1, 2023, the nursing assistant is a protected job title (https://legitimation.socialstyrelsen.se/underskoterska-blir-en-skyddad-yrkestitel/). This means that you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant in healthcare.

You can apply for the certificate from July 1, 2023. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in healthcare, but with a different title than nursing assistant. For those offered a job with us in Region Dalarna after July 1, the title in your employment contract will be Care Assistant until you can present your certificate. If you had a permanent position with the title nursing assistant when the new regulations came into effect on July 1, 2023, you can continue to use the title for 10 years. You can retain the title even if you change workplaces/employers after July 1. After that, you will need a certificate of protected job title to use the title nursing assistant.
