Welcome to the Department of Health and Prevention!

We have a unique responsibility for initiatives in the areas of health promotion and preventive work, where we implement decided measures according to the Social Services Act and perform actions according to the Health and Medical Services Act.

Key cornerstones of the department's work are to develop new forms of social community and participation in society. The department has a special mission focused on increasing quality of life, combating involuntary loneliness among our elderly, and violence in close relationships, as well as developing new forms for these areas of work.

We are now looking for three new dedicated companions and respite caregivers for our team. Are you passionate about working with people, have good pedagogical insight, are flexible, and want to contribute to development and change work? Job Responsibilities

As a companion/respite caregiver, you will provide support and good service to our users based on their individual needs and wishes. You will perform everyday, planned support measures and activities together with the user. The support measures should promote the user's integrity, participation, and are carried out with respect for the user's self-determination. The user's needs should be at the center, and the person's opinions should be actively taken into account.

All support measures are based on the user's individual needs and wishes in accordance with the Social Services Act and Malmö City's values. You will work systematically and with social documentation. You will collaborate with your colleagues and other actors to ensure that the right support is provided. Together with our users, implementation plans will be developed that form the basis for how the work should be structured.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a completed upper secondary education
  • Can ride a bike
  • Has good computer skills
  • Has good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Education and work experience with a pedagogical focus

As a person, you are clear in your communication and have a consultative working method, both in individual interventions and in groups. We see your engagement, proactivity, solution- and development-oriented mindset, as well as a high level of service as prerequisites for taking on the role of companion/respite caregiver with us.

Your working method is characterized by flexibility, continuity, and the ability to create security for the user. You have a good ability to structure and want to be involved in developing the operations. You also have a willingness to share our values and work towards set goals, as well as to work with continuous improvements.
