IES HÄSSLEHOLM is now looking for a school counselor for 100%.

IES Hässleholm is a F-3 school with approximately 360 students. We have recently opened F-3 and have access to nice facilities and a lovely outdoor environment. The school is centrally located, within walking distance to buses and trains, so commuting is not a problem.

At the school, we work in an international environment, as part of the teaching is conducted in English and we have staff members who have English as their mother tongue. We follow the Swedish curriculum and our teaching materials are in Swedish.

As a school counselor, you will be part of our student health team, which consists of the principal, vice principal, study and career counselor, school nurse, special educator, and special teacher, as well as a school psychologist. (All, except for the study and career counselor and school psychologist) work full-time and are available at the school daily.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a school counselor, you provide psychosocial competence as support in the educational work and in the overall planning of the student health work and work closely with other student health personnel and school management. The job responsibilities include, among other things:

• from a holistic perspective, conduct conversations such as support, motivation, and crisis conversations as well as investigative and advisory conversations with individual students and their families based on school-related issues
• at the request of the principal, investigate and assess the social situation of individual students and provide guidance and consultation to the school's staff
• participate in the school's structure and organization regarding values and equal treatment

Another important part of your work is close collaboration with, for example, social services and child and adolescent psychiatry.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another higher education that the employer deems relevant for the assignment.

We seek a colleague who has experience and knowledge of working with individuals and groups. It is an advantage to have worked as a school counselor. You have social competence, are attentive, flexible, and have the ability to collaborate with various professional competencies and other authorities such as social services, psychiatry, and police, etc.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Experience is required.
