PhD Candidate in Sociology with a Focus on Ethnographic Research

Job Responsibilities:
The position involves working closely with the project leader to analyze ethnographic data and develop publications focused on project-related issues concerning scientific collaboration, how machine learning models move between research sites, and methodological questions regarding the investigation of sociotechnical systems.
The work will include analyzing already collected data, gathering archival and documentation materials, and drafting scientific publications. The candidate is expected to develop their own research questions and analyses based on the overall purpose of the project, participate in regular project meetings, and closely collaborate with the PI regarding all aspects of the project.
Requirements:
- PhD in Sociology.
- Documented experience in ethnographic research, including study design, fieldwork, interviews, and data analysis.
- Documented experience in social science research on 3D modeling and/or machine learning.
- Documented experience in publishing in international peer-reviewed journals.
- Excellent proficiency in Swedish and English.
Desirable:
- In the appointment, special emphasis will be placed on scientific competence.
- Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
The position is available as soon as possible and will last until June 31, 2026.
