Music Teacher with a Focus on Singing/Choir

We are looking for a music teacher with a focus on singing/choir for teaching within the Cultural School's choir activities.

Responsibilities

Teaching in the Cultural School's choir activities. The work includes planning and conducting lessons together with other teachers. Smaller groups of singing students may also be part of the role. Daytime, evening, and some weekend work may occur.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a music teacher education with a focus on singing/choir or other education suitable for the role.

If you have experience working in a cultural school or primary school, that is an advantage, as is experience working with children's influence and rights.

You have your own drive but are also a functioning team player. You should be accustomed to and enjoy handling children in groups of various sizes. You are relationship-building, understand the value of listening to the child, and have a strong empathetic ability.

You also need to be responsible and willing to take your share of responsibilities, such as student administration, and participate in the Cultural School's development work.

You must also have very good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written.

Meritorious

• Competence in additional forms of expression/instruments, such as rhythmics, dance, visual arts, film, music production, etc.
• Experience from a cultural school
• Knowledge of and experience working with children's influence and rights
• Knowledge of one of Malmö's major languages other than Swedish

Malmö Cultural School is part of the cultural administration in Malmö city and one of the largest cultural schools in the country, with an educational program that reaches over 5,000 children and young people. The Cultural School offers courses in animation, visual arts, dance, music, comic drawing, and theater, and is centered in the Kulturhuset Mazetti, in the heart of Malmö.
