About the Workplace

The position is located within the Outreach and Preventive unit, where we work with Swedish for Parents on Parental Leave, community orientation, Roma inclusion, and mapping newly arrived residents seeking social assistance.
Job Responsibilities
As an SFI teacher for Swedish for Parents on Parental Leave, you will work to create accessible, flexible, and individualized language instruction for parents at home with small children who do not have Swedish as their mother tongue. Your mission is to give participants the opportunity to develop their Swedish language skills in a safe and social context, where the language is connected to everyday life, parenthood, and society at large.
Teaching takes place at the city's six family centers and occurs in groups with varying numbers of participants, as participation is voluntary. You will plan and conduct instruction that can be adapted to participants' different language levels, previous educational backgrounds, and needs. The instruction is often orally focused and based on dialogue, repetition, and practical language use.
The role also includes:
- Planning, conducting, and following up on instruction within Swedish for Parents on Parental Leave
- Creating a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment
- Adapting instruction to participants' conditions and current situations
- Collaborating with staff at family centers and other professional groups
- Contributing to the development of the content and methods of the operation
- Documenting and following up on the operation according to applicable routines
Since the number of participants may vary and the operation is flexible, other tasks within the SFI operation may also occur.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a teaching license with authorization to teach SFI
- Has at least 30 credits in Swedish as a second language
- Has documented experience in teaching SFI or adult education

- Are comfortable teaching in groups with varying and sometimes unpredictable numbers of participants
- Have the ability to create trusting relationships and an inclusive climate
