The Duty and Assessment Agency is establishing itself in Umeå!

Do you want to be part of it from the beginning? We are now looking for a responsible medical function who wants to help start our new testing office in Umeå.

The office in Umeå will open in the autumn of 2026 and will be centrally located in newly renovated premises next to the Ume River.

At the testing units, senior physicians, psychologists, nurses, and administrators work together with our case officers. In total, we will be about 60 colleagues in Umeå working together to achieve our goals.

Your responsibilities

In the role of responsible medical function, your tasks will include:

• coordinating and following up on the unit's medical activities according to instructions from the agency's chief physician. This means ensuring that the unit's nurses and doctors apply the agency's medical methods and working practices correctly.
• utilizing experiences and suggestions regarding the development of methods and working practices.
• coordinating the selection that the medical group performs during the day based on established planning.

You will also step in and work in our testing chain and conduct health examinations during enlistment, admission testing, and other assignments when the workload is high. There may also be oral presentations where you will present to a workgroup or management.

Our working methods are based on scientific principles and proven experience, which means we make selections of high quality to ensure the right person is in the right place with the right responsibility.

Travel for work is required.

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone who is:

• a nurse with a license issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare.
• with several years of experience in clinical work in a patient-centered environment.

Preferred qualifications include:

• experience in responsibility for a larger task, area of responsibility, or project.
• experience in planning and coordinating meetings and daily operations.
• participation in the development of medical methods and working practices.
• the ability to deliver presentations in an engaging and clear manner to small or larger groups.
• experience with health checks.

About the employment

We offer you a permanent full-time position that begins with a probationary period.

At the beginning of your employment, you will participate in our two-week internal training in interview and assessment techniques. To work in the agency as a psychologist, a passing result on the training is required.

Due to the nature of the work, you cannot work from home, but we hope this can instead contribute to a clearer division between work and leisure. A security clearance will be conducted for employment according to the provisions of the Security Protection Act. Employment comes with an obligation to be placed in a military position.
