The Duty and Assessment Agency is establishing itself in Umeå!
Do you want to be part of it from the beginning? We are now looking for a functionally responsible psychologist to help start our new assessment office in Umeå.
The office in Umeå will open in the autumn of 2026 and will be centrally located in newly renovated premises next to the Ume River.
At the assessment units, senior physicians, psychologists, nurses, and administrators work together with our case handlers. In total, we will be about 60 colleagues in Umeå working together to achieve our goals.
Your tasks
The tasks are divided between the role of functionally responsible and that of a psychologist.
In the role of functionally responsible psychologist, the tasks include:
- coordinating and following up the unit's psychological activities based on instructions from the chief psychologist
- supervising and participating in the introduction of psychologists
- conducting meetings and training initiatives with the psychologist group
- participating in the psychologist management
- ensuring that the workgroup applies the agency's psychological methods and working methods correctly
- continuously utilizing experiences and suggestions regarding the development of methods and working methods
- solving tasks that require analysis and evaluations that may affect the client
- conducting oral presentations before the workgroup or management
In the role of psychologist, you will:
- conduct occupational psychological selections by interviewing, assessing, and testing conscripts during enlistment and individuals applying for education and employment primarily within the Armed Forces and the Police Authority.
Our working methods are based on scientific principles and proven experience, which means we make selections with high quality to ensure the right person is in the right place with the right responsibility.
Travel may occur in the position.
Your qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- is a psychologist with a license issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare and has completed PTP
- has experience in planning, implementing, and following up psychological development work
It is advantageous if you:
- have experience in selection psychology
- have worked as a team leader/coordinator/project manager or had responsibility for a group of psychologists without direct personnel responsibility
- have worked as a psychologist with us at the Duty and Assessment Agency
Your personal qualities
We are looking for someone who can take responsibility for tasks, work in a structured manner, and drive processes forward. It is also important that you can organize and prioritize work effectively. You enjoy working independently under responsibility.
You have the ability to act calmly and controlled in pressured situations and can focus on the right things. We also see that you can collaborate well, with the ability to relate to people in a responsive and smooth manner. Your communication skills are clear, and you can ensure that expectations are clear to the parties involved. You also have the ability to handle, analyze, and solve complex problems.
About the employment
We offer you a permanent full-time position that begins with a probationary period.
At the beginning of your employment, you will participate in our two-week internal training in interview and assessment techniques. To work in the agency as a psychologist with us, a passing result on the training is required.
Due to the nature of the work, you cannot work from home, but we hope that this can instead contribute to a clearer division between work and leisure. At the Duty and Assessment Agency, we work to make Sweden safer. Our main task is to enlist, register for basic training, and register personnel in the war organization. We also conduct tests and assessments for other authorities, such as the Police and the Swedish Defence University. In short: we ensure that the right people end up in the right place in total defense.
