Nurse for Postoperative Department
Region Västerbotten works to ensure that good health and sustainable development strengthen each other. We take responsibility for equitable welfare and for ensuring that research and innovation yield results.
The Center for Anesthesia, Surgery, and Intensive Care in Umeå provides intensive care for children and adults, emergency and planned surgical care, anesthesia with associated postoperative care, air ambulance services, and sterilization services at the regional level. All of this is done in close collaboration with other clinics in the region. The clinic also conducts research, development, and education.
The postoperative department is responsible for the majority of the hospital's postoperative care. We care for patients of all ages coming from across the region, the county, or our own Umeå residents.
We operate in facilities designed to provide safe and effective care. As a new employee, you will receive a tailored introduction and a mentor. You will be offered regular internal training and actively participate in your own continuing education and the department's development work.
We work in various ways with the shared vision we have developed:
“Through our behaviors, we create a workplace characterized by safety, learning, respect, and a professional approach.”
We are proud of our workplace and our mission.
To facilitate the balance between work and leisure, you will have the opportunity to join a work schedule model that allows for more recovery time and enables you to participate in planning your shifts through a wish schedule. We work mixed day, evening, and night shifts.
Do you want a challenging job that truly makes a difference? We are now looking for a nurse to join our team.

The work is varied. At times, you work at a fast pace, while at other times it is more calm. Sometimes with short hospital stays and in other situations, the work consists of more complicated issues and longer hospital stays.
The work includes mentoring future colleagues.
Please watch our short informational film about Postop available above.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. If you currently have a specialist training in anesthesia, intensive care, or pediatrics, it is an advantage.
You should have an interest in care where, despite short patient meetings, you create safe and secure care. You should have the ability to see and plan your work and find positive challenges in handling stressful periods. You are an active part of the development of patient care, view collaboration with colleagues positively, and take on your own tasks and work independently.
