Healthcare Assistant for Urological and Gynecological Department
Region Västerbotten works to ensure that good health and sustainable development strengthen each other. We take responsibility for equitable welfare and ensure that research and innovation yield results.
The main goal and task of the Surgical Center in Umeå is to provide highly specialized and high-quality care and research for patients within the northern healthcare region. The clinic is divided into sections for urology, breast, endocrine, vascular, colorectal, and upper gastrointestinal surgery, which are conducted in both outpatient and inpatient care.
We are now looking for someone who wants to work as a healthcare assistant in the urological and gynecological department. In the department, we investigate, treat, and operate on people with gynecological and urological cancer. We also handle a large number of acute admissions, such as infections, bleeding from the urinary tract, pregnancy complications, and general surgical patients when we have space. The care we provide is characterized by a holistic approach where many different professions are engaged and collaborate in teams to achieve the best possible results.
We are a small staff group with good cohesion and collaboration. With us, laughter comes easily, but we can also share complex situations. It is important for us to have good and open communication with each other and for everyone to feel welcome. Our motto is that we are each other's work environment, and the question we ask ourselves is - How do we make each other better?
We are committed to providing you with a good introduction and favorable conditions for you to thrive and do a good job with us. We offer a 4 to 6-week individually tailored onboarding. You have the opportunity to work according to a work schedule model, known as a 3-3 schedule, which means you work approximately 88% with a maintained full-time salary.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a healthcare assistant with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that makes people feel secure.
Here you will work within a broad surgical area with highly specialized surgery and emergency care. We work as a team, and you will have close collaboration with nurses, doctors, and other specialized functions. Together with your colleagues, you contribute to creating good cooperation and a pleasant atmosphere in the department and within the clinic. Developing care, contributing to high patient safety, and achieving goals are natural parts of your work.
With us, both patients who have undergone planned surgeries and patients who have sought emergency care are treated, which means that you as a healthcare assistant have great opportunities for a varied workday.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a certified healthcare assistant education. Since healthcare assistant is a protected title, you need to present a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare, or alternatively a service certificate that allows you to use the title until June 30, 2033, under the transitional provisions.
It is advantageous to have completed an emergency care course - preferably with experience in the profession. Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is important in your patient interactions.
As teamwork is an important part of your work, you have a good ability to collaborate with others by being attentive and adapting to what the situation requires. Both tasks and pace of work can vary, so to thrive with us, you should enjoy variety and have the ability to take your own initiative.
If you have a drive and a strong commitment to providing safe and goal-oriented care, you have come to the right place. If you want to influence and drive the development of our specialized care department and contribute to building more advanced surgical care, please send your application to us.
