Lead Supervisor at the Medical Center Southern Lapland

Region Västerbotten works to ensure that good health and sustainable development strengthen each other. We take responsibility for equitable welfare and for ensuring that research and innovation yield results.

Do you find it stimulating to see people develop and grow? If you are a nurse with pedagogical and communicative skills, then the position of Lead Supervisor at the Medical Center Southern Lapland is for you!

The Medical Center Southern Lapland is an active and developing clinic at Lycksele Hospital. The clinic's units consist of the Medical Department, Medical Reception, Dialysis, Rehab/Stroke Department, and Rehabilitation Unit. Our approximately 150 employees highlight the good cohesion, solution focus, quick decision-making paths, and ease of communication as strong advantages of working with us. We act in accordance with the clinic's vision "Soft hands, sharp minds, warm hearts" to achieve good care. With us, you will develop and collaborate with skilled colleagues!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to your role as Lead Supervisor at 40%, you will work up to full-time as a nurse in one of the departments within the Medical Center. You will work in a team together with nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, doctors, social workers, and other professional categories. We work within the broad spectrum of internal medicine with a varied operation encompassing a wide range of medical conditions.

Possible placements include the medical department, dialysis, and rehab/stroke department.

The medical department operates around the clock with 16 care places where you meet a broad patient group within general internal medicine, cardiovascular, lung diseases, diabetes, infections, gastrointestinal diseases, kidney diseases, multi-sick elderly, and palliative care.

The main task of the dialysis department is to provide treatment to patients who need blood dialysis and live in Southern Lapland. The department has seven treatment places where we usually have 10-15 patients receiving treatment 1-3 times a week. The operation is conducted Monday to Friday during daytime hours.

The rehab/stroke department operates around the clock, has 16 care places, and focuses on care within stroke, orthopedics, and rehabilitation. There is close collaboration with the Surgical Center to prepare and provide aftercare for patients undergoing hip and knee prosthesis surgeries.

The Lead Supervisor has a coordinating function for nursing students during VFU (workplace-based education) and works with planning and implementation of VFU. The work involves, for example:

  • Introduction and planning discussions at the start of VFU.
  • Planning the student's continued development.
  • Conducting teaching and encouraging the search for current research. Leading reflection discussions and addressing ethical situations. Providing additional supportive and guiding conversations as needed.
  • Collaborating with the clinical teacher/course responsible at the respective institution for follow-up.
  • Where applicable, planning for the National Clinical Final Examination (NKSE) together with the respective manager and clinical teacher/course responsible.
  • Participating in assessment discussions and examinations with students and clinical teachers/course responsible at the respective institution.
  • Participating in projects and collaborating with the respective institution to develop student education.
  • Further developing the student reception and pedagogical learning in accordance with the educational directive.

You will receive support in your work from the clinic's department heads and from the region's FOUU unit.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed nurse with a bachelor's degree, professional experience, and supervisor training. A master's degree is an advantage.

If you lack supervisor training, you should be prepared to undertake it. You are collaborative, have organizational skills, and are communicative. Furthermore, you are pedagogical, have empathetic ability, and can express yourself well in speech and writing. You want to contribute to building and developing both our workplace-based education and yourself.

The assignment is 40% and means that you will work from your supervisor office on designated days. Your remaining time up to full-time or another desired employment level (as well as during student-free times of the year) will be spent working within the Medical Center Southern Lapland.

If you are already employed within Region Västerbotten at another clinic than the Medical Center, there is the possibility to combine that employment with the role of Lead Supervisor.

You will receive onboarding for the assignment and thereafter will have relatively great freedom in how you structure your work. In addition to a monthly salary, there is a salary supplement of 2500 SEK/month.

We look forward to your application!
