Assistant Nurse for the Endoscopy Unit

The primary goal and task of the Surgical Center in Umeå is to provide highly specialized and high-quality care and research for patients within the northern healthcare region. The clinic is divided into the sections of urology, breast, endocrine, vascular, colorectal, and upper gastrointestinal surgery, which are conducted in both outpatient and inpatient care. The care at the Surgical Center is characterized by a holistic approach where many different professional categories are involved and collaborate for the best results. In collaboration with Umeå University, we also conduct successful research with both clinical and preclinical focus.

At the Endoscopy Unit at Norrland University Hospital, we conduct a modern endoscopy operation where we perform advanced examinations and treatments of the gastrointestinal tract. We work with gastroscopy to examine the stomach and upper gastrointestinal tract, sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy to diagnose and treat diseases of the colon, as well as ERCP, etc., to examine and treat conditions in the bile ducts and pancreas. Our operations are characterized by high competence, patient focus, and close collaboration within the team.

We are now looking for a full-time assistant nurse for the endoscopy unit. At the endoscopy unit, you will work in a team of nurses, endoscopy nurses, operating room nurses, assistant nurses, and doctors. We perform about 6000 examinations per year. With us, you will be an important part of a team that values collaboration, learning, and safe care.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As an assistant nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and engagement that makes people feel secure.

The responsibilities of the assistant nurse include assisting the doctor during endoscopic examinations and treatments, handling and cleaning instruments, and managing supplies.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a certified assistant nurse education. Since assistant nurse is a protected title, you need to provide a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare, or alternatively a work certificate that allows you to be covered by the transitional provisions of the National Board of Health and Welfare and use the title until June 30, 2033.

As a person, you are positive, stress-resistant, flexible, and service-oriented. You have good communication skills and handle the Swedish language in both speech and writing. You enjoy working both independently and in a team.
