School Nurses Wanted in Umeå Municipality

The student health service in preschool and primary school works in teams consisting of school nurses, school counselors, school psychologists, special educators, and principals. We work based on the intentions of the Education Act. The student health service primarily works health-promoting and preventive, at the individual, group, and organizational levels, to support students towards the educational goals.

We are now looking for two school nurses, one permanent position and one temporary position!

Your Responsibilities

You will work to promote students' physical and mental health in the school environment in collaboration with the school's student health team, staff, students, and guardians.

You will work according to established directives and governing documents from the National Board of Health and Welfare and the Swedish National Agency for Education. You will participate in health-promoting, preventive, and remedial work at both the individual, group, and organizational levels. You will conduct health visits and vaccinations and participate in assessments of students in need of special support in collaboration with the student health team and school staff based on your medical competence.

About You

You have a good ability to work independently and enjoy administering and taking responsibility for your tasks. You need to have good self-leadership and flexibility, as the school's mission is multifaceted. You need to be able to create a good collaborative climate since you will collaborate with other professionals and authorities. Of course, you have a strong commitment to the health of children and young people.

As you may work at several schools, we also see that you have good planning skills and are flexible. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements

• Licensed nurse with specialist training as a pediatric nurse, district nurse, and/or school nurse.
• Driver's license (B), as travel is included in the position.
• Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as basic knowledge of English.
• Valid extract from the criminal record, due to the suitability control law.

Meritorious

• Experience in similar work.
• Experience in MI.
