The home care service in Umeå municipality is the largest provider in Umeå with the longest experience in personal care and service for clients living in their own homes. In addition to offering supervision, personal care, cleaning and laundry services, and grocery shopping, we also place great value on being a social and safe point. Social interaction is just as important a key to increased quality of life as the practical services we provide, and therefore it is a high priority for your municipal home care service.

Care and nursing homes as well as short-term care in the municipality are available in both the outskirts and the city center. People's participation, self-determination, and influence over their lives are fundamental to experiencing dignity and well-being. To create conditions for this, all employees in elderly care's nursing and care homes work with a person-centered approach.

We are now expanding our elderly care pool with more competent care assistants!

Your Responsibilities

As an employee in our elderly care pool, you will work as a substitute in all areas, for example, during short-term absences. You will follow the daily schedule assigned to you at the beginning of your shift. You will administer medications and insulin as delegated by a nurse and document in Treserva according to the organization's routines.

The pool is available during the day and evening throughout the week. Weekend shifts are distributed every third weekend, and no split shifts occur.

About You

We are looking for someone who is a trained care assistant with solid experience in the profession. To communicate with clients, relatives, and colleagues, write and access care documentation, and receive medication delegation, you need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.

As a person, you have high integrity, are attentive, empathetic, and enjoy working independently. You demonstrate great commitment to both our elderly and the organization in all relationships and actions. You are responsible and solution-oriented, ensuring that you have received the information you need to perform your work safely. Working in the pool requires you to be flexible and understand that adjustments may need to be made based on our elderly's and the organization's needs.

The position requires a B driver's license and access to your own car. We operate in Umeå, Hörnefors, Sävar, Holmsund, Obbola, and Tavelsjö.

Heavy lifting occurs, and mobility aids should be used.

As there may be animals and smoking in the workplace, you should not be allergic.

Other

A total of four (4) positions, permanent employment, full-time. Start date 2026-04-01 or by agreement.

Temporary placement or probationary employment may be applied to ensure that the necessary requirements for employment can be met in terms of receiving delegation from a nurse.

Salary supplement for placement in the pool is 2792 SEK/month.

Salary supplement for employees using their own car for transport from home to workplace is 1329 SEK/month.
