Healthcare Assistant for Postoperative Department
Region Västerbotten works to ensure that good health and sustainable development strengthen each other. We take responsibility for equitable welfare and ensure that research and innovation yield results.
The Center for Anesthesia, Surgery, and Intensive Care in Umeå provides intensive care for children and adults, emergency and planned surgical care, anesthesia with accompanying postoperative care, air ambulance services, and sterilization services at the regional level. All of this is done in close collaboration with other clinics in the region. The clinic also conducts research, development, and education.
The postoperative department is responsible for the majority of the hospital's postoperative care. We care for patients of all ages coming from the entire region, the county, or our own Umeå residents.
We operate in facilities designed with the goal of providing safe and effective care. As a new employee, you will receive a tailored introduction and a mentor. You will be offered regular internal training and actively participate in your own continuing education and the department's development work.
We work in various ways with the shared vision we have developed:
“Through our behaviors, we create a workplace characterized by safety, learning, respect, and a professional approach.”
We are proud of our workplace and our mission.
To facilitate the balance between work and leisure, you will have the opportunity to join a work schedule model that allows for more recovery time and to participate in the planning of shifts through a wish schedule. We work mixed day, evening, and night shifts.
Do you want a challenging job that truly makes a difference? We are now looking for another healthcare assistant to join our team.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a healthcare assistant with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that makes people feel safe.
Working as a healthcare assistant in Postop means that you, together with nurses and doctors, are responsible for the care of newly operated patients. The work consists of monitoring and treating failures in vital functions and advanced pain relief. As a healthcare assistant, you are involved in assessment and prioritization and suggest actions based on the patient's care needs. The work is varied. At times, you work in a fast-paced environment with short care times, while at other times, the work involves more complicated issues and longer care periods. Together with the nurse, you are responsible for the care work that prepares the patient to return to the ward.
Since Norrland University Hospital is a teaching hospital, supervision of future colleagues is included.
