Job Advertisement – Category Strategist
Do you want a key role where you combine business strategy, category management, and close collaboration with both sales and purchasing? We are now looking for a Category Strategist with experience who wants to take full responsibility for our assortment and ensure that the right products reach the right customer – at the right time.
About the role
As a Category Strategist, you will be responsible for our existing assortment and for ensuring that products effectively reach our customers. A central part of the role is to manage and adapt our wide assortment to different customers and customer segments in order to optimize sales and increase our inventory turnover rate.
You will work closely with both the sales team and the purchasing function, acting as an important bridge between them. The role is both strategic and operational, with a strong focus on analysis, follow-up, and execution.
Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for the existing assortment
- Manage and adapt the assortment to different customers and customer groups
- Optimize sales, profitability, and inventory turnover
- Create, plan, and execute campaigns for our partners
- Coach, support, and follow up with salespeople in selling to partners
- Act as the link between the sales team and our two buyers
- Follow up on sales data, campaigns, and assortment outcomes, and suggest actions
Requirements
We are looking for someone who has:
- Several years of experience in category work, sales, purchasing, or a similar commercial role
- Good business understanding and experience working data-driven with sales and inventory
- Experience working with broad assortments and different customer segments
- Ability to drive and coordinate work across multiple functions
- Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish
- Good system knowledge and experience working with business and analytical tools
Preferred experience
It is a plus if you also have:
- Experience from wholesale, B2B, retail, or distribution operations
- Worked with campaign planning and campaign follow-up
- Experience in inventory management and working with inventory turnover rate
- Previously held a coaching or leadership role towards the sales organization
- Experience working closely with purchasing functions and suppliers
