Production Engineer at Backer AB

Backer AB is part of the Swedish publicly listed heating group NIBE Industrier and employs approximately 400 people in the development, manufacturing, and sales of intelligent solutions for electric heating and energy regulation. We operate at two locations in Sweden, Sösdala in Skåne and Kolbäck in Västmanland. Backer AB in Sösdala is located a 5-minute walk from the Pågatåg station.

The unit in Sösdala also serves as the headquarters for the NIBE Element business area, which includes about 80 units located in Europe, Asia, Australia, and North and Central America. Our solutions are delivered to customers in various industries and serve as an important part, either in our customers' finished products or in their manufacturing processes. About the Role

As a Production Engineer, you will design, construct, and further develop machines, robot cells, and production equipment in our factory in Sösdala. You will drive improvements and smaller projects independently – from analysis and design to installation and commissioning.

Automation, robot programming, and PLC are a natural part of your daily work, and you will be involved in investments in new production equipment focusing on efficiency, availability, and a safe working environment.

Your Responsibilities in Brief

• Design and CAD (2D/3D), drawings, and technical documentation
• Process optimization of new and existing products for production
• Programming of robots and PLC
• Installation, testing, and commissioning of machines and robot cells
• Investment and cost analyses
• Troubleshooting and improvement of machines and tools
• Support to the maintenance department and other functions

We are looking for someone who has

• Technical education in design, automation, mechatronics, or similar
• Experience with CAD and technical design
• Experience in robot and/or PLC programming
• Knowledge of machine safety and manufacturing methods
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English
