Would you like to help develop the future of resident services in one of Sweden's most expansive archipelago municipalities? The Sports and Outdoor Unit is now looking for a manager for the Fritidsbanken – focusing on work with public health, inclusion, sustainability, and accessibility.

The Fritidsbanken is like a library – but with sports and outdoor equipment. Everyone can borrow, everything is free, and we reuse equipment. Here, residents can borrow everything from skis, ice skates, and balls to tents, life jackets, and camping stoves. The operation promotes public health, equality, and sustainable consumption.

The Fritidsbanken Värmdö has started a collection of equipment and conducted pop-up activities at Grisslinge beach and Ekvallen in 2025. We are now entering the next phase – to open a permanent Fritidsbank in 2026.

The Sports and Outdoor Unit is one of four units under the Culture and Leisure Office. We work for sports and outdoor life for everyone, throughout life – with a range of opportunities that promote health, community, and quality of life. By developing attractive environments and collaborating with associations, the municipality is an enabler for a rich recreational offering that makes a difference for the residents.

In the role of manager, you have a key role in establishing and running Fritidsbanken Värmdö. You are responsible for ensuring that the operation follows the values and central guidelines of Fritidsbanken in harmony with the goals of Värmdö municipality. The role is both strategic and operational and includes, among other things:

• Start-up and operation: Participate in the planning and opening of Fritidsbanken in 2026.
• Building the premises: Create an inspiring environment that encourages activity and movement through lending.
• Work leadership: Lead and distribute the daily work in Fritidsbanken with the lending of sports and outdoor items.
• Staffing: Plan the schedule for the team, which will consist of supervisors and work trainees.
• Collection and inventory: Organize the collection, registration, and maintenance of equipment.
• Outreach activities: Plan and conduct pop-up activities, trial events, school visits, and participate in municipal joint events.
• Marketing and collaboration: Represent Fritidsbanken in various contexts and develop collaborations with schools, associations, and other actors.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Relevant higher education or equivalent experience.
• Pedagogical experience in meeting the municipality's prioritized target groups.
• Experience in leading and distributing tasks, preferably with a project management background.
• Experience in development work or running projects.
• Experience in a service profession with customer contact.
• Good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Driver's license (B).

It is advantageous if you have:

• Experience in a politically governed organization.
• Knowledge of sports and outdoor equipment, including basic repairs.
• Interest in sports, outdoor life, and sustainability issues.

As a person, you are self-driven, service-oriented, creative, and clear.

For this position, presenting a valid extract from the police criminal record is a prerequisite for employment.
